I received the January 13, 2011 issue of RAND Items and could not believe that Desmond had passed away. I remember him from my early days at RAND while working in the Travel Accounting department, and how Desmond made me laugh when I would contact him about his expense report submissions, sometimes I would call him just so that I could hear his comments and we would laugh together. He certainly left a lasting impression. My heart is heavy and so sad to hear of his passing, he had so much to give. To his family, I am so sorry for your loss, our loss.
